Mary Phyllis Conklin, 84 of Minford passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Best Care Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Wheelersburg. She was born March 1, 1939, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Henry Edward and Veatrice Anna Knapp Rase, she was a former employee of Williams Shoe Factory, was a Homemaker, and an avid Daniel O’Donnell fan. Mary was the secretary and treasurer of the Minford Alumni Association and a member of St. Johns Church in Powellsville.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Dean Conklin; three children, Sherry (Terry) Boggs, Steve Conklin, Donald (Diana) Conklin; five grandchildren, Christian Conklin, Abby Conklin, Tabitha Jernigan, Cody Hill, Casey Conklin, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, George Rase and one sister, Doris Buroker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2023 at St. John Lutheran Church in Franklin Furnace with Pastor Brent Cavendish officiating. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery in Powellesville. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
