People trespassing on school grounds is always disturbing, but the idea is even more upsetting when it happens at a facility designed to serve vulnerable individuals with special needs.
The administration at Vern Riffe School contacted officers to complain about issues they have with some people who live on Mabert Road.
When officers spoke to the family, a man who said he was from Florida, did give his name but had no identification. A woman who said she was the man’s mother, refused to cooperate, and police did not feel they had enough justification to force her to identify herself.
The school trespassed both individuals from the property, and officers said if people at the school felt threatened, they could file a report.
