Danny Ray Lawson Sr., 67, of Lucasville, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024, at SOMC in Portsmouth. Danny was born June 24, 1956, to the late Ernest and Alma (Eldridge) Lawson in Portsmouth.
Danny served his country in the United States Army. Danny was an avid outdoorsman and loved anything to do with the outdoors including, fishing, hunting, and just taking long walks in the woods. He also loved sitting on the porch and drinking coffee. Danny loved life and loved telling jokes even if the punchline wasn’t apparent to those he was telling them to. Danny loved spending time with and spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Danny is survived by his wife of 47 years Brenda Lawson; two sons, Danny Lawson Jr. and wife Nicole of Stockdale, and Michael Lawson and wife Jodi of Stockdale; one daughter, Pamela Yeager and boyfriend Evin Risner of Rubyville; two brothers, Kenneth Lawson of South Webster, and Paul Lawson of Mansfield; three sisters, Peggy Snyder and husband Keith of Mansfield, Melvery Lawson of Wheelersburg, and Donna Conkel of Wheelersburg; ten grandchildren, Shawn, Kayla, Destiny, Madison, Chris, Kaleb, Jayla, Jase, Haley, and Peyton; five great grandchildren, Jaxon, Michael, Ellaina, Amelia and Julianna.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Pastor Rick Mollett officiating. Interment will follow at Stockdale Cemetery with Military Honors presented by the James Dickey Post #23 of the American Legion.
