Officers headed to Staker’s Drugs at 12:44 pm after a man claimed his girlfriend was trying to plant drugs on him in his vehicle in the parking lot.
The man told officers he’s used meth about 8 hours before.
Police caught up with the girlfriend near Kroger and brought her back to the scene. The woman said the vehicle had run out of gas, and she was trying to find someone to bring them money.
Officers learned the couple had both used meth about 12 hours previously. They called for an ambulance to take the man to the hospital while the crisis response team came to the scene to take the woman to a rehab for admission.
Once the hospital cleared the man, he was also set to go to rehab. Officers warned the woman that she’d have to find someone to move her vehicle, or it would be towed.
Officers were called back to Staker’s the next day to stand by while the girlfriend got her stuff out of the vehicle. The man had enough gas to get the car running, so he drove away and the woman went back to her treatment program.
