Officers checked out multiple reports of dog attacks in the area.
A local man contacted deputies to report that his dog was attacked and injured by another dog. He told officers there was an ongoing issue with his neighbors not watching their dogs.
The man said the dogs got loose again that morning and attacked his dog at his South Point Home. The dog required treatment at the vet. He said he took the vet bill to their house but wanted to make a report just in case they failed to pay for the treatment.
The next day, a resident of County Road 55 called deputies to say that she woke up to multiple alerts from her security camera and discovered videos of her neighbors’ dog attacking her animals. She said this was an ongoing problem with the neighbor, and they refused to do anything about it.
So far, the dogs have attacked and killed 11 animals, but the neighbor doesn’t seem to care. Officers contacted the Lawrence County Dog Warden and also told the woman that she and her husband had the right to shoot the dog if it returned to their property.
