Thomas Andrew Kielmar, 64, of Rosemount, died on Friday, August 9, 2024, at SOMC. He was born September 19, 1959, in Portsmouth to the late Louis and Freda (White) Kielmar.
Tom graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1981, is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and is a retired Millwright from local #1519. He loved to study Astronomy and was well-versed in our solar system. Many friends and family who played with him considered him a trivia master.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Kielmar, two nephews, Alex Wiley and Justin Singer, and two brothers-in law, Steve Meadows and Allan Huff.
Tom is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ramona “Moni” (Stiltner) Kielmar, a daughter, Tedra Grate (Michael) of Rosemount. A brother, Tim Kielmar (Debbie) of Rosemount, five sisters, Joan Meadows of West Portsmouth, Susan Huff of Rosemount, Sally Singer (Rick) of Portsmouth, Barabara Hacker (Pete) of Rosemount, and Cindy Crumm (Brent) of Rosemount. He is also survived by his six grandchildren that he adored, Jacob Grate, Sierra Foit (Dallas), Brenden Grate, Amelia Grate, Cohhen Grate, and Nohlen Grate, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth. Burial will follow at Rosemount Cemetery. A visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home and again on Wednesday, one hour before the service, starting at 11:00 AM.
A Recitation of the Rosary will be held Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Due to Tom’s grandson’s delicate health condition, it’s requested that visitors who are not feeling well wear masks.
