Kyleigh Janay Shelton, “Kyleigh Nay”, 19, of Portsmouth went home with Jesus Friday, December 27, 2024 while being greeted by her Mamaw. She was born February 24, 2005 in Portsmouth, a daughter of Kevin and Amanda (Lute) Jones, and was a student at Vern Riffe School in Portsmouth. Beating the odds of surviving until she was 19 when the doctors said she wouldn’t live past 2 years old,
Kyleigh’s infectious smile and contagious laugh could light up a room and everyone’s heart. Even though Kyleigh couldn’t speak, her presence made a lasting impression on everyone who met her. This was Kyleigh’s world and we all lived in it. If you ever had the pleasure of meeting Kyleigh you can consider yourself blessed as she truly was a light in this very dark and unfair world. We all need Kyleigh here but Kyleigh and her Mamaw need each other more.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by brothers & sister, Kayden Shelton, Kayleb Johnson, and Khloe Johnson. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Jane Lute.
