Cheri Lynn Payton, 56, of Portsmouth, died on May 7, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born August 1, 1968, to the late Robert Dale “Butch” Curnutte and Billie Jean (Castle) Hamilton.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kayla Payton, and a sister, Tammy (Curnutte) Newman.
Cheri is survived by her Fiancé, Jim Tice; a niece, Samantha (Joseph Holsinger) Curnutte; a nephew; Adam (Koryn Richardson) Newman; great nieces and nephews, Logan Journey, Alayah White; and was awaiting the arrival of a great-great nephew, Jameson Journey.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with burial at Memorial Burial Park to follow.
