George “Homer” Cassidy, 81, of Portsmouth, OH., passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Vanceburg, KY., on September 30, 1943, a son of the late Charles and Pleasant Jordan Cassidy.
Homer retired from L&CP Corporation and served as a Deacon at the Lloyd Ridge Pentecostal Church for many years.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by five brothers.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Bernice Madden Cassidy; three daughters, Tricia Cassidy of Troy, OH., Freda (Norman) Watkins of South Shore, KY., and Georgia (Clayton) Osborne of Peebles, OH; two sons, George (Jan) Cassidy JR., and Shane (Leighann) Slifer of Greenup, KY; one sister, Dixie Clark; three brothers, Danny Cassidy, Virgil Cassidy and Jimmy Cassidy. Along with several grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. Friday, September 19, 2025, at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Anthony Rister officiating. Burial will follow at Spy Run Cemetery in Garrison, KY. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the funeral home from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. and from 10 A.M. until the funeral hour on Friday.
