Paul D. Evans, 89, of Lucasville, passed away Monday, December 1, 2025 at SOMC Hospice. He was born January 16, 1936 in Greenup, Kentucky, a son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Salyers) Evans. Paul was a mechanic for Dayton Walther in Portsmouth and a member of United Steelworkers.
He is survived by two daughters, Teresa (Boyd) Adkins, Loretta (Joe) Coleman; five grandchildren, Christy (Nick) Savage, Amanda (Johnny) Adams, Jeremy (Shalisha) Preston, Brittany (Gabe) Havens, Ryan Evans; 9 great grandchildren; one brother, James Evans; one sister, Thelma Ruggles, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie (Adkins) Evans on July 21, 2012; a son, Randy Evans; five brothers, Johnny Evans, Talmadge Evans, William Evans, Frank Evans, Kenneth Evans, and two sisters, Pearl Lewis, and Winnola Brown.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Rodney Evans officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in South Shore. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
