Two Portsmouth women claimed their mothers did them very wrong. Just after 5 pm, a Gallia Street Caller said her mother punched her in the face.
However, when officers arrived, both parties refused to cooperate with the police.
About 20 minutes later, a woman called police from Findlay Manor to say her mother tore up some of her clothes and stole the rest of them. She claimed her mother and her boyfriend had been in her home and stole jeans, perfume, baseball cards, and a tablet.
When officers spoke to building management, they learned that the apartment actually belonged to the mother’s boyfriend. When police spoke to the mom and her boyfriend, they said the daughter had just been released from a mental hospital, and they were helping her straighten up her room when she started arguing with them, so they left.
Officers advised the daughter that property disputes were a civil issue.
