Portsmouth, Ohio police officers dealt with a bizarre fake police report about a missing child. A man flagged them down on Walnut Street just before 3 am to report a 14-year-old girl missing. He said his brother was on his way to the police department to file the report.
Police had not heard from the parents yet and told the man to have them call.

However, when officers followed up on the matter, they discovered the man made the entire story up. When they spoke to the girl’s mother, she said the teen lives in Huntington, West Virginia with her father and is perfectly fine.
The family has absolutely no connection to the man who made up the story and had no idea why he came up with it.
