Following a car wreck, authorities were baffled to discover that the driver mysteriously disappeared from the scene, raising many questions.
911 received a call at 11:44 pm Monday night reporting a single-vehicle accident on Cooper Road, off 348.

Initially, the vehicle was reported to be upside down, and the driver was not immediately located.
Responding agencies included Union Township Fire and EMS and Scioto County Sheriff’s Department.
Based on the plates, the registered owner is a 19-year-old male with an underage DUI history.
It did not take long for all emergency responders to arrive, and the search for the driver was underway.
Upon arrival at the scene, they noticed the car (a black Chevy Cruz) was on its top and teetering on a steep embankment.
There was no apparent injured victim in the immediate area, so the ambulance crew returned to base.
After the car was safely retrieved from the embankment, the deputy went to the registered owner’s home.

The suspect was not at home. However, the family members had learned about the crash and were notified where the vehicle had been towed.
The suspect remains at large at this time.
