June 2, 2025, was another action-packed Monday for first responders in Scioto County, with 64 calls for service logged by the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office. While we can no longer access the detailed daily call logs the way we once could—thanks to a decision by the Sheriff’s Office to limit information earlier this year—we remain committed to keeping our readers informed and transparent. Here’s what we can tell you from the data still available:
🚑 Medical Emergencies Dominate the Day
A whopping 22 emergency squad calls were made throughout the day. Several required patient transport, including runs to Meadow Drive, Turkey Foot Township Road, Millers Run-Fallen Timber Road, and Snook Road. Other EMS responses occurred on Ginat Drive, Dillow Road, and Milldale Road, though not all resulted in transport.
A suspected suicide attempt on Noel Lane did not lead to hospital transport but prompted a swift emergency response. Meanwhile, a domestic complaint at SOMC Emergency Room also resulted in a police response.
🚓 Police Investigations and Crime Reports
Deputies handled at least 14 complaint investigations, including:
- Vandalism on Mt. Hope Road and Blue Run County Road
- Theft on Sherborne Road
- Suspicious activity and persons on Jenkins Lane, Lucasville-Minford Road, and Hickory Ridge Lane
- Threats or harassment on Tick Ridge Road and Pershing Avenue
- Juvenile issues on Cattail Road and Frederick Road
An arrest was made on Lincoln Street during the service of a civil process warrant, while a traffic offense stop near 13th and Washington Blvd ended with a warning.
🏍️ Miscellaneous Mayhem
- Alarm drops kept responders on their toes, with false alarms or investigations at locations including Big Pete Road, Kittle Road, Gallia Pike, and the Scioto County Dog Pound.
- A motorcycle/ATV complaint came in from Vernon Street.
- A neighbor dispute on Rigrish Road required a multi-unit response.
- Animal control was called to Clayton Court, though no details were provided.
🚗 Wrecks and Road Woes
Two injury crashes were reported: one at Eleventh Street and another near Kinker’s Corner Store on State Route 140. No word on the severity of injuries, but both required squad response and generated police reports.
Disabled vehicles caused minor delays at Route 139/Greenbriar and throughout Clay Township.
👮 Patrols and Public Safety
Deputies conducted routine patrols in Clay Township, at the Porter Township Community Pool, and on Shela Blvd. Meanwhile, civil process efforts were scattered across High Street, Colony Drive, Dogwood Ridge Road, and Ohio River Road.
