Employees of the Marathon on Gay Street called PPD at 2:30 pm to report there was a confused man at the gas station. He told them he’d been lost for about five hours and was searching for his wife. He also said he felt ill due to low blood sugar.
Officers and EMS responded to the scene. EMS workers cleared the man medically. Officers contacted the man’s hometown police department, which is in the suburbs of Cincinnati.
They were able to locate his daughter, who works for Cincinnati PD. Officers transported the man to SOMC, and the hospital agreed he could wait in their waiting room for his family to arrive.
The man’s wife and daughter arrived two hours later to pick him up and officers assisted them in locating his vehicle to drive home.
