Deputies responded to US 23 at 7:42 am after a witness said a mom put a child out of a car on the highway and yelled at them near the Quality Inn. The child then proceeded to walk in the direction of Clay Schools.
By the time deputies responded, the Ohio State Patrol was already on the scene and giving the mother an earful about her actions.
Mom explained that the child had been kicked off the school bus and she’d been making him get out of her car and walk the rest of the way to school with her following as a punishment. Officers advised her not to let a child walk on the highway.
