David Harlan Heath

David Harlan Heath, 88, of Portsmouth, died on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the SOMC Hospice Center, with his family by his bedside. Born on November 17, 1936, in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late John and Arrietta Applegate Heath.

David was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, a retired security guard from Empire Detroit Steel, a golden member of the New Boston Eagles Aerie 2271, member of the James Dickey Post 23 – American Legion. He was a member of the Aurora Lodge #48 masonic lodge, a member of the Portsmouth and Ashland, KY Shrine Clubs, avid bowler and attended the North Moreland Christian Baptist Church.

Also preceding him in death was a sister, Kathy Culp and a granddaughter, Brittany Smith.

Surviving are his wife, Lorena “Rene” Holsinger Heath; two daughters, Terri (Steve) Leasure of West Portsmouth and Janet (Chet) Stambaugh of Wheelersburg; two stepsons, Martin Bauer of Wheelersburg and Jon (Jim Gilbert) Bauer of Safety Harbor, FL; two stepdaughters, Angie (Greg) Dillow and Annette Smith, all of Wheelersburg; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and a special friend, Louise Bauer.

A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 13th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Ryan Hagen officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Burial Park.

The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
