David M. Bentley, 73, of South Portsmouth, KY., passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, OH. He was born in Portsmouth, OH., April 15, 1952, a son of the late Luke Bentley SR and Hazel Jarvis Bentley.
David was a retired carpenter out of Local 437.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Rita Anderson.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years Carol Davis Bentley; one son, David Michael Bentley JR of Huntington, WV; two daughters, Meagan (Ricky) Mays of Franklin Furnace, OH., and Ashley (Michael) Mullins of South Portsmouth, KY; one sister, Sandy (Bill) Plummer of Lexington, KY; three brothers, Luke (Julie) Bentley of Garrison, KY., Danny (Joyce) Bentley of Vanceburg, KY., and Marty (Marie) Bentley of Mason, OH; five grandchildren, Micah, Josie, Sawyer, Liam, Axxell and several other nieces, nephews, family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Luke “Butch” Bentley III officiating. Burial will follow at Soldier Cemetery in Garrison, KY. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
