A desperate out-of-town patient at a local rehab called law enforcement for help. She told them she’d just received word that her 19-year-old son had an accident in Mansfield and she was desperately trying to get there and have Medicaid pay for the ride. However, she said the agency required verification from law enforcement the facility was real. She told officers she’d meet them at the Rosemount McDonald’s.
When officers arrived at the restaurant, they noted that she was upset and crying. A deputy took the woman back to the rehab facility. Officers learned the facility was trying to help her get a ride. Employees also said that if she wasn’t successful, she could spend the night in her room, and they would give her a ride in the morning.
