A deputy sent for backup after they pulled over a car on US 52 and noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Additionally, the driver handed the officer a bag of marijuana. The deputy also sent for the Ohio State Patrol.
Police allowed the man to leave the scene after a ride showed up to take him home.

Officers detained a man after a traffic stop on Gallia Pike just after 2 am.
Police pulled over a vehicle with Kentucky plates, and a deputy discovered a crystal substance they believed to be drugs inside the vehicle.
Police impounded the substance.
3 Man Arrested After Passing Out Behind the Wheel of Car
Just after 11 am, officers responded to Bertha Avenue for a report of a man slumped over the wheel of a car.
Officers took the man into custody for driving under the influence, using weapons while intoxicated, and possession of a controlled substance.
Police had the vehicle towed to the impound lot and transported the man to the Scioto County Jail.
