Elder Abuse Report – Man Taken To Hospital
An ambulance transported a man to the hospital after officers investigated a report of elder abuse.
A caller contacted police just after 2 pm to say she’d stopped by a Mound Street residence to visit an older gentleman and was concerned about his living conditions.
An officer responded to the scene to investigate. Police contacted Adult Protective Services and requested that an ambulance respond to the scene.
The officer told the man’s family that APS had been contacted, and an ambulance took the man to the hospital for evaluation.
Man Arrested After Domestic Incident on Charles Street
Just after 11 pm, police responded to a report of an assault on Charles Street. A woman contacted officers to say a man showed up at her home and started punching her.
Police caught up with the man about an hour later at James and Charles Street. Officers booked him into the Scioto County Jail on a charge of domestic violence.
Stalker Follows Woman To Family Dollar
A woman contacted Portsmouth Police to report a bizarre incident at the Family Dollar on 11th Street.
She said a woman had been following her for some time and made several attempts to contact her through social media and using other people as intermediaries.
She said the woman followed her around the Family Dollar Store, and this wasn’t the first incident. She said she called the prosecutor’s office, and they advised her to call the police.
Officers explained the process for applying for a protection order.
Cab Driver Decides to Keep Cab – Boss Not Amused
It appears a cab driver liked his ride so much, he decided to take it home with him. The owner of a cab company contacted the police to report one of his drivers had threatened to keep the cab he was driving. The owner said the man planned to take the cab home with him to Quincy, Kentucky.
He allegedly told another cab driver that he’d bring the cab back with him when he had another shift. Officers advised the owner to let them know if the man followed through on the threat.
