Franklin Price Gammon, 82, of Sciotoville, died Thursday, October 31, 2024, in the emergency room of the Southern Ohio Medical Center. Born on December 20, 1941, in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late William Clarence and Jessie Marie Book Gammon.
Also preceding him in death was a sister, Marie Chamberlin.
Price was a member of Wheelersburg Church of Christ and was employed at the former Stevens Construction.
A United States Army veteran, he was a specialist 4 in heavy artillery, having served three years in Germany.
Surviving is a son, Tim Gammon of Minford, his longtime companion, Carol McCain and her children, Erin Heim and Dusty McCain; a brother, William (Juanita) Gammon of Sciotoville; a sister, Margaret Cheney of Vero Beach, Fla. and several nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 4th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Lynn Wessel officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors by the James Dickey Post of the American Legion.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
The American flags, along with the U.S. Army flags, will fly on the avenue in honor of our proud veteran, Price Gammon.
