A terrified child called 9-1-1 just before 4 am. She said someone was next door who wasn’t allowed to be there. Dispatch asked if her mother was there, and the child got her mom and put her on the phone.
The mom explained that her phone went missing earlier, and she suspected her ex stole it, and she thinks that freaked out the daughter because the man is banned from the home. The woman said they were fine.
A few minutes later, someone from the child’s school called, saying she’d sent a text saying her mom had left the house and the ex had been there earlier, and she was scared.
An officer made contact with the mother, who said her phone had been missing since around 3:30 am. She said she believed the boyfriend took it because she hadn’t heard or seen anyone enter the home, and the dog hadn’t barked.
The woman filed a report for the stolen phone, and officers said everyone seemed fine.
