Gary D. Hammond, 59, of Portsmouth, died August 17, 2024, at SOMC Hospice. He was born on October 22, 1964, to the late Gary and Suzie Barbara (Tong) Hammond. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Savahanna Mauk, and a brother, Danny Hammond.
Gary was a 1983 graduate of Portsmouth West High School and went on to work in the concrete industry.
Gary is survived by 3 sons, Austin, Dylan, and Robert “Levi” Hammond; a daughter, Brooke Hammond; a brother, Dwayne Hammond; a sister, Lisa Howard; and many special nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 7:00 PM at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 5:00 PM until the service. Condolences and donations may be sent to rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
