Gary Herbert Little, 78, of Goshen, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025 at the SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born on June 20, 1946, in New Vienna, Ohio, to the late Herbert Little and Flora Josephine Carter.
Gary is survived by his daughter, Heather (Shannon) Lawson of Corbin, Kentucky; his brother, Thomas (Debbie) Little, of Otway, Ohio, daughter-in-law, Jamie Little of Blue Ash, Ohio; along with many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Stepdad, William Robert Carter; his sister, Sandra Hall; his son, Gary Shayne Little; and his wife, Ruth Little.
Affectionately known as “The Cart,” Gary had a lifelong love for music. He was especially skilled at playing the guitar and steel guitar, and his music brought joy to many.
He was a faithful member of Brush Creek Baptist Church in Otway, OH and found strength in his faith and church family.
Gary will be remembered for his quiet nature, his love for music, and the steady presence he was in the lives of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway, Ohio with Pastor Tom Little officiating. Burial will follow in the Mustard Cemetery in Rarden. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
