Local law enforcement investigated multiple reports of stolen items around the county.
Just after 7 am, a caller reported a man breaking into cars at Mike’s Auto Sales in Wheelersburg. The caller also said the business’s shed was wide open. Fifteen minutes later, an employee also called in to confirm the break-in.
Meanwhile, in Portsmouth, around 8:30 am, a Campbell Avenue resident contacted police to say that their car title had gone missing, and they feared it had been stolen. However, the last place they remembered seeing the title was at the Sidetrack bar, where they admitted the title might have been lost. Officers took information for a report.
At 9 am, a Gilbert Avenue caller reported a theft. They said a large number of gold coins and some boots were missing. Officers took information for a report.
The manager of a Scioto Trail property called the police to say she’d gotten a message saying that someone had broken into the property and had arrived to find the door open. She requested officers check the place out before she went inside. Police cleared the building and then took information for a report.
