The principal of an area high school called law enforcement after they received an alert that a child had typed something disturbing into their school Google Docs account.
The alert said the child had typed that he was a school shooter. Security officers immediately went to a classroom and removed the child. They then searched the boy and his locker for weapons but didn’t find anything.
The student told school officials he didn’t know anything about the messages. He claimed a friend had typed them in a document without his permission. Deputies interviewed both students before transporting the first boy to the Lawrence County Juvenile Detention Center.
Officers noted the first boy was already on probation, so they also notified his probation officer.
