John Keith McHenry

John Keith McHenry, 79, of South Webster, passed away at his home on Friday, May 10, 2024. He was born on December 1, 1944, in Portsmouth, the son of the late Karl McHenry and Ruth Williams McHenry Young.

John was a respected attorney in Portsmouth and a dedicated community servant. He gave his time and talents to many area organizations. He served as the Director of the Veteran’s Project at the Scioto County Public Library, was a member and president of South Webster Village Council, President of the Scioto County Heritage Museum, and was a member of the Seven Nations Celtic Club who honored John as the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Grand Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with interment in Memorial Burial Park.

The James Dickey Post Honor Guard will provide military graveside rites.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. and one hour prior to services on Thursday.

In honor of Mr. McHenry’s service to our country, the flag of the U.S. Army will fly at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Scioto County Heritage Museum, 623 Market St., Portsmouth, OH 45662.
