Kenneth Crawford, 75 of South Shore, Kentucky, died Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Community Hospice in Ashland. He was born May 2, 1948 in Richmond, Indiana to the late Pearl and Ruth Cottingim Crawford.
Ken was a 1966 graduate of Portsmouth West High School. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Ken retired from the State of Ohio Division of Fire and Arson Investigation. He was a former Deputy Sheriff and a former Fire Chief of Minford and Stockdale Volunteer Fire Departments. He is a member and former Post Commander of James Dickey Post 23 American Legion, a member and former Commander of the 40/8, former Commander of American Legion District 7 and a member of the VFW Post 3638.
Ken is survived by his wife Lana Hayden Crawford, whom he married on November 21, 1971, a son Tony (Amanda) Crawford, a daughter Amanda (Shawn) Tarr, a brother Glenn Crawford, 3 sisters: Wanda Massie, Cora Conkel and Esther Berling, 9 grandchildren: Darlene Boggs (Randy) Clutter, Christopher (Elizabeth) Boggs, Andrew Crawford, Tanner Crawford, Bryson Crawford, Mason Tarr, Alyson Tarr, Wystan Tarr, Emyrsen Tarr and 1 great grandchild Kian Boggs.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday September 26, 2023 at the Dry Run Church of Christ in West Portsmouth with Ron Anderson officiating. Interment will in Friendship Cemetery with military rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 PM on Monday at the Roger W Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth and one hour prior to the service at the church.
