Linda Kay Howard, 78 of Portsmouth passed away Monday, November 13, 2023, at SOMC Hospice. She was born January 14, 1945, in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Eugene and Alafair Whitley Shonkwiler, was a bank teller, and her grandchildren’s biggest fan. She was a loving mam and loved to be with her family and supporting her grandchildren in all their sporting events.
She is survived by her son, Darrin Lee (Gina) Howard; five grandchildren, Cory Lee (Aron) White, Darrin Lee Howard, Dalton Lee Howard, Cory Bradley, Devon (Kelsey) Bradley; six great-grandchildren, Baylee Lynn Guido, Izaiah White, Kayanna White, Taylan White, Jace White, Wrenlee Bradley; one sister, Willa (Charles “Art”) Marion; two sisters-in-law, Patty Shonkwiler, Kathy Glaze, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Lee Howard, and two brothers, Walter Shonkwiler and Keith Shonkwiler.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Mike Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace.
