The Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Patrol has recognized a trooper and dispatcher for their outstanding service to the community in 2023.
Trooper Austin Hall’s fellow officers picked him as the 2023 Trooper of the Year. Hall is now eligible to compete for District and State Trooper of the Year. The 6-year veteran was picked for having a good attitude, leadership abilities, and treating both his fellow officers and the public with respect.
This isn’t the first time Hall has earned awards. He’s also been recognized with the Traffic Safety Award, the ACE Award for auto larceny, the Criminal Patrol Award five separate times, the Star Level Fitness Award, and the Safe Driving Award.
Dispatcher Cynthia Bloomfield was also recognized with the Portsmouth Post’s telecommunications award. Minford native Bloomfield is a 15-year veteran of OSP and has worked at both the Jackson and Portsmouth Dispatch Centers. Coworkers picked her for the honor based on her job knowledge, great attitude, and because she treats fellow officers and the public alike with respect.
