Loretta Lea Russell, 65, of Otway, Ohio, unexpectedly passed away on February 6, 2025, at Riverside Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on September 15, 1959, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late William Sheridan and Ruby Lindsey, Loretta brought joy to everyone she met with her warm spirit and generous heart.
A dedicated dietary aide, Loretta found fulfillment in caring for others, and her nurturing nature extended to every aspect of her life. She cherished her family deeply, and her greatest joys were spent with her beloved husband, John Michael Russell, whom she married on July 3, 1983, and their children, Lindsey (Tom) Cornwell and Michael Russell (Norma Fisher). Loretta also adored her grandsons: Noah, Eli, and Isaac Hurn, who filled her life with laughter and love. She is also survived by her siblings, Sharon Morrow and William “Sherd” Lindsey.
Loretta had a green thumb and loved nurturing her beautiful flower gardens, which served as a reflection of her nurturing soul. Loretta cherished her pets, and in her heart, she looked forward to reuniting with her beloved huskies, Kojak and Bandit. She was also preceded in death by her parents William Sheridan and Ruby Lindsey.
