A lost child called 911 just after 8 pm to say he needed help getting home. He said he was walking through West Portsmouth with a cousin who’d abandoned him near Summit and Shump Streets, and he needed help getting home to Pershing Avenue.

The boy said he couldn’t call his parents as his phone was only good for calling 911.
Officers located the child and gave him a ride home to his parents.
