Man Crashes Into House, Fights With Cops

First responders had a hard time helping a man after he crashed into a West Portsmouth house just before 11 am.

EMTs said the man would not cooperate with them, and they suspected he might be on drugs. They managed to get him on the cot for transport, but he became angry and went into the house and began cursing at them.

Deputies headed to the scene and asked for a trooper to perform a sobriety test. When a deputy arrived, the man took a swing at the officer.

Officers took the man into custody, but the jail told deputies to take him to KDMC for treatment. Medical personnel at the hospital determined the man had an open fracture on his hand and transferred him to SOMC for further treatment.

Deputies accompanied the man to the hospital to keep an eye on him.
