Portsmouth police were called to High Street after a woman reported that someone dumped glass in a city dumpster she had rented.
The call came in around 9:15 a.m.
The woman wanted to speak with an officer about the mess, and police later went to the Mound Street area to contact the man involved.
Officers advised him to clean up the glass.
That is when things got a little weird.
According to the police log, the man thought he had a warrant and ran from officers.
He did not have a warrant.
Police attempted to tell him over the PA system that he was not wanted and advised him to return and clean up the glass.
Everyone involved was advised, and no arrest was reported.
Sometimes people run from trouble.
Sometimes they run from trouble they completely invented in their own head.
