Meanwhile on Mabert Road
Just before 1 a.m., a Mabert Road caller reported a man banging on her door. She asked the police to make him leave. Unfortunately, the man left before the police arrived.
Suspicious Activity
An officer stopped to speak with a man spotted walking at 25th and Grandview at 2:24 am. The officer sent for a squad to check on the man. EMS cleared him medically. The officer gave him a ride to Speedway.
Pepsi Challenged
Just after 6 am, a semi-truck loaded with Pepsi products broke down at Gallia and Harding. By the time police arrived, Pepsi had already arranged for another truck to pull the trailer.
Man Impersonates Brother At Traffic Stop
A man came to see police at 8 am to report that his brother used his information during a traffic stop back in 2017, which resulted in a warrant being issued for his arrest.
The officer said police would attempt to find the bodycam footage and speak to Portsmouth Municipal Court about recalling the warrant.
At 8 am, a caller reported a man in a truck tearing up the grounds of York Park. Officers discovered an open warrant for the man through the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office.
Police arranged for a tow, but the first tow company could not get the car out of the mud. A second company was able to tow the vehicle successfully.
Man Threatens To Burn Down Vet Clinic
Just before 10 am, officers received a report of an angry man making death threats against the Scioto Trail Animal Clinic employees. He was furious because they told him he was no longer welcome at the clinic. He also threatened to “burn the building to the ground.”
The clinic did not want to press charges but asked police to advise the man to stay away. Officers went to the man’s home to speak to him. However, there was a large fence around the property with a padlock securing the gate, and no one answered the phone number the clinic had on file for the man.
