On October 23, 2024, at his daughter’s home in Mount Vernon Ohio, Michael Ulysses Green went home to be with the Lord and finally found peace.
Michael was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on June 15,1954 to the late Francis and Helen (Morris) Green of Lucasville, Ohio.
Michael was formerly employed by the United States Enrichment Cooperation (USEC) for 17 years before he was disabled. Michael was an avid hunter and fisher for many years and found much comfort being outdoors in his flannels. He would hunt anything and eat it—up to and including groundhog! For many years it was not uncommon to find freshly caught fish in the bathtub, fresh game in the oven or to be carrying big ol’ bullfrogs he had just gigged.
Michael is survived by his children, David (Jill) Green of Brunswick, GA, Heather (Justin) Meier of Mount Vernon, OH, and Justin (Becca) Green of McDermott, OH; his grandchildren: Leah, Dinah, Daniel, Bekah, Isaiah, Gabriel, Josiah, Kaitlynn, William, Levi and Evelynn; his siblings: Carole Keesler, Matt (Bonnie) Green, Mary(Stephen) Zafer, and Benjamin Green; and many nieces and nephews including Jamie, Lori, Larry, Merle, Aryn, Josh, Dino, Levi, Justin, Brittney and Kadence.
Michael had many fun sayings and the family rests in knowing that he truly is now “finer than a frog’s hair” and “grinning bigger than a opossum eatin’ yellow jackets” and that he finally “got there, by thunder!”
Friends may call Tuesday October 29, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, Ohio. Funeral will be held immediately following calling hours with Elder Justin Meier officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery. Family asks friends to come in their best flannel if they can. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
