A beloved teacher and coach at Minford Middle School is facing an assault charge. According to court records, the assault case against Lori Rolfe was filed on October 14.
The court issued a warrant, which was later canceled after Rolfe appeared at an arraignment on October 18. The court released Rolfe on her own recognizance and set a pre-trial hearing for October 29.
According to social media posts from the parents of her alleged victim, Rolfe grabbed their daughter by the hair during a volleyball game and forcefully moved her to another position. The parents say there is a video to back up the accusation. The parents say they are concerned as Rolfe is still teaching.
We contacted Minford School for comment. Jeremy Litteral, the District Superintendent, told SCDN, “At this time, the district is working to cooperate with all involved in this investigation and legal matter.” He made no further comment regarding the situation or Rolfe’s current employment status.
