A woman called 911 to report a frightening incident involving a loose dog on Grant Street. She told officers she was trapped on the roof of her car trying to escape a vicious pit bull.
The woman said she was in the process of getting her baby out of her car when the dog attacked. She scrambled on top of the vehicle and called 911 for help. She said the animal was wearing some kind of vest.
Her husband attempted to come out of the house to her rescue, but the dog chased him back inside.

Officers were able to take control of the animal and took it to the dog cage at the city impound lot. They called animal control to let them know that the dog would need food and water.
