It took five doses of Narcan to revive an overdose victim, but the woman wasn’t too happy with the people who saved her.
A Lawrence County Deputy responded to a report of an overdose, and EMS workers on the scene told him the female victim was fighting with them. The officer saw the woman cussing at her mother and tried to take her into custody.
She fought with the officer, refused to give her name, and cussed him out before she was handcuffed. The woman’s family said they’d found her overdosed on the floor and revived her with five doses of Narcan.
Officers discovered the woman had an open warrant for arrest. EMS transported her to the hospital for treatment, then a deputy brought her to the Lawrence County Jail on the open warrant. Officers decided not to charge her for resisting arrest, and they gave her a pamphlet discussing her treatment options for addiction.
