There’s not a day that goes by where officers are not called to respond to a report of someone passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle in Portsmouth.
Just before 9 a.m., Portsmouth Police Officers responded to a familiar call of a driver passed out in the lot at the Dollar General on Gallia.
Police notified the drug response team and ended up requesting an ambulance for the overdose victim.
Just 40 minutes later, officers received a report of a woman passed out at the pump at a gas station at 2nd and Washington. Officers waited with the woman until a man arrived to give her a ride.
At 1:48 pm, a caller reported a man overdosing at Valero Gas. However, he left the scene before first responders arrived.
Ten minutes later, officers were called to Junkyard Hogz for a report of a man overdosing. However, he ended up not requiring a squad.
