Patricia Elaine McCall, 68, of West Portsmouth

Patricia Elaine McCall

Patricia Elaine McCall, 68, died July 5, 2024, at her home.  She was born October 3, 1955, to the late Dennis Charles and Virginia Agnes (Montavon) McCall.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Nicholas Shoaf.

After leaving home at a young age with an adventurous spirit, Patricia spent her youthful years out west In Arizona. She created a successful life for herself at Standard Printing Company and lived a life of adventure. After the birth of her son, Joshua, she moved to Georgia, where she had her daughter, Allison. As a mother, Patricia was loving, compassionate, and fiercely proud of her children’s accomplishments and successes. After her return to West Portsmouth, Ohio, she spent her retired years following her Catholic faith and volunteering at Our Lady of Sorrow Thrift Store.

She loved being outdoors, tending to her garden, and immersing herself in nature’s ambiance. Patricia was passionate about animal welfare and rescued many cats in her lifetime. Patricia had a love of antiques and the beautiful history and nostalgia behind them. When she wasn’t in her yard planting and admiring her beautiful flowers, she was spending her time in her booth at Ghost in the Attic, selling the treasures that she found to the community.

She is survived by a son, Joshua (Alexandra Kostas) McCall; a daughter, Allison Abramsky; 4 grandchildren, Emma Faith and Hunter Shoaf, Cayson Kostas, and Harrison McCall; a brother, Larry McCall; a sister, Beverly (William) Malone; her beloved cats, and many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, beginning at 12:00 PM Noon at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Pond Creek with Father Fulton officiating. The interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday starting at 11:30 AM. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Sierra’s Haven in Patricia’s memory. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
