Portsmouth Police and the Scioto County Coroner were called in to investigate two deaths.
The first call came in just before 11 pm. A man said he found a relative deceased in a 5th Street home.
Officers and medics responded to the scene, and EMS personnel confirmed the man was deceased. Police conferenced with the Coroner about their next steps, and officers took information for a report.
The Portsmouth Fire Department responded to the home about 90 minutes later to assist officers with moving the deceased.
The next day, officers responded to Summit Street after another man reported finding a relative dead just after noon. Medics confirmed the victim was deceased, and a doctor fixed the time of death at 12:25 pm.
The Scioto County Coroner sent a transport to take possession of the deceased. Officers took information for a report. The fire department also provided a lift assist to the coroner’s office.
