Portsmouth Police were called to Wilson Avenue after a woman reported that a man shoved her down a set of porch steps.
Officers responded shortly before 1 p.m. on October 29 and found the woman outside the home crying. She complained of back and knee pain, and Portsmouth Fire Department personnel were called to check her out.
The woman told officers the man came out of the house without warning and pushed her down the steps.
The man and another woman inside the home gave police a different account. They said the woman had walked into the house without permission, had been told several times to leave, and became aggressive before she was pushed out of the home.
No arrest was reported.
The resident asked police to bar the woman from returning to the property. Officers had her sign a no-trespass order and warned that she could be arrested if she returned.
