Portsmouth West Middle School Teacher Drops the “N” Word in Class- Caught on Tape
On Thursday night, a video of Portsmouth West Middle School teacher Twila Stump using the “N” word in front of her students was posted online.
A witness to the incident says the word had been written on the board. She was asked if she had ever used the word. They told SCDN she said the word once, and then turned a student turned on the recording device. She was then asked, “Did you just say the N-word?” You can hear the teacher respond, “You guys think the word [explitive] is a dirty word. No, it is not. It’s not a good thing to call anybody.”
The reaction was swift. A few of the commenters had the following to say.
“What can we do about this? Maybe we should all call the school office or the board tomorrow.”
“She’s very violent! Has no patience for students and shouldn’t be around kids that age.”
“I should add she also would talk about her sex life with students when I was in school. Explaining about her having sex on her washer/dryer.”
A former student told SCDN, “When I was her student, she was very mean to students and inappropriate in behavior. She, among many teachers at West, still remains there because the school neglects to do anything about it. My whole time at West, I saw awful wrongdoings against students from teachers that you would think would cause them to be reprimanded but are then brushed off by the school.”
