Portsmouth Police Officers were called in to investigate multiple sexual offenses, including a sexual assault. A social worker from a local hospital contacted PPD around 3:30 pm to report a victim at the facility who wanted to speak with officers about an attack.
The social worker wasn’t sure if it was a city or a county case since the victim and suspect lived out in the county, but the assault happened in Sciotoville.
Officers investigated another report of a sex offense after a woman said a man had made inappropriate sexual comments to her juvenile daughter and niece. She said the man was dating the niece’s mother. Officers learned the incident happened in West Portsmouth and told the woman to contact the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office. They also explained the process of filing a protection order against the man.
Deputies also got a call from workers at the SOMC ER saying that a female patient claimed to have been sexually assaulted. Officers told her to contact SVU the next day.
