Richard “Dick” Kersey, 87 of Stout, died March 18, 2025, at his home on Upper Twin Creek Road. Dick was born July 11, 1937, in Ashland, Kentucky to the late Glenn and Margaret Kersey. Dick was a proud Air Force veteran, a Kentucky Colonel, member of the Ford Car Club of Waverly, former Buena Vista Fire Chief, and a member of West Union Masonic Lodge #43.
Dick retired from the Army Corps of Engineers at Meldahl Damn.
He is survived by two brothers, Ronald of West Union, and Eddie of Clinton, Utah; two nephews, Rodney Kersey of West Union and Joshua Kersey of Utah; several nieces and great nephews; special friends, Mark Gifford, and Ralph Hayslip of Stout; his special caregivers, Pam, Kim, and Shey who cared for him the last four months; and a special friend Barbra Lemaster.
Funeral services will be 2PM Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Ralph Hayslip officiating and interment in McKendree Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday starting at 12PM noon. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerdavisfuneralhome.com
