Samuel Paul Carter, aged 81, passed peacefully from this life, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, craftsmanship, and unconditional love. Born on May 9, 1944, to Earl and Jean Carter, Sam grew up rooted in strong family values that shaped the remarkable man he became.
On November 23, 1963, Sam married the love of his life, Billie Jo Krebs, with whom he shared many beautiful years until her passing. Their union was a testament to commitment, partnership, and enduring love.
Sam was preceded in death by his sisters Ruth and Janet Kay, and is survived by his sister Tangie (Ed) Reith, who brought him much joy and companionship throughout his life. He was a proud and devoted father to Todd (Wanda) Carter and Samantha Jo Carter, and a cherished grandfather to Sean (Brandi) Carter, Theron Rae Carter, and Tiffany Carter. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Myles Carter and Jonathan Garringer (Carter), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who adored him.
A hardworking and respected member of his community, Sam dedicated more than 50 years to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). His skill, leadership, and steadfast work ethic earned the admiration of many in the field. He was also an esteemed member of the Harrison-Fullerton Masonic Lodge #937, where he once served proudly as Past Master, and a member of the Scottish Rites, reflecting his deep commitment to service and brotherhood.
Outside of his professional accomplishments, Sam’s heart was found in the simple joys—his faith, his family, and his friends. He found great meaning in attending his church in South Shore, where he built lasting friendships and strengthened his spiritual life. Time spent with loved ones was his greatest treasure, and his warm presence, generous spirit, and gentle humor will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Samuel Paul Carter leaves behind a lifetime of love, integrity, and service. Though he is no longer with us, the impact of his life will continue to shine through the family he cherished and the community he served so faithfully.
May his memory be a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
