Two Scioto County communities will each get $500,000 to help fight flooding and improve drainage.
The State of Ohio Awarded the money as part of Community Development Block Grant Projects for Critical Infrastructure.
The money will help New Boston upgrade components and pumps at the facility on Munn Road. The state says the current electrical gear is obsolete, and the pump station doesn’t have enough capacity to drain water from the village. New Boston has experienced several instances of flooding in the past few years.
The state says Otway has experienced significant flooding due to a lack of curbs and proper drainage. Their money will go to make improvements along State Rt. 73.
