Daily Public Safety Activity Report – April 15, 2025
Scioto County Sheriff’s Office & Emergency Medical Services
On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, local law enforcement and emergency medical responders were kept busy with a wide variety of calls across Scioto County. The following report provides an overview of the day’s activities, categorized by call type and general location.
Breakdown by Call Type
Medical Emergencies
A total of 23 calls were made for emergency medical squad (EMS) assistance (coded as Signal 29). These included both transport and non-transport incidents. Locations ranged from private residences to businesses, schools, and roadside incidents. Examples include:
- Upper Twin Creek-Rocky Fork Rd
- Wheelersburg Local Schools
- Hammerstein Rd (multiple calls throughout the day)
- Mahajan Therapeutics on Center St
- SOMC Urgent Care on Ohio River Rd
Alarm Drops
Officers responded to 10 alarm drop calls (Code 78), most of which were found to be false alarms or required only routine checks. Notable addresses include:
- McDermott Pond Creek Rd (multiple times)
- Lafayette Ln
- Shela Blvd
- Maple Benner Rd
- Colley Rd
Accidents
There were 4 motor vehicle accidents reported:
- 2 with injuries (Code 04) — at Glendale Rd and State Route 139.
- 2 without injuries (Code 02) — at Fred’s Restaurant and the KFC/Taco Bell location on US Hwy 23.
Domestic Complaints
Law enforcement responded to 4 domestic incidents (Code 20) in the following areas:
- Dogwood Ridge Rd
- Camp St
- Main St
- Hayes St
Theft Reports
There were 2 theft-related calls:
- A theft in progress on Dogwood Ridge Rd
- A theft report at Minford IGA on State Route 335
Suspicious Activity
Calls related to suspicious persons or vehicles totaled 6:
- Suspicious vehicles on River Rd and Super Quick on Galena Pike
- Suspicious persons at Bierly Rd/Timberlake Dr and Gahm’s Pharmacy
Investigations
Deputies were called out for 8 investigative complaints (Signal 09), including schools, restaurants, and roadside situations such as:
- West Portsmouth High School
- Taco Bell in Lucasville
- Wheelersburg Post Office
- Sherman St
Traffic Offenses
Deputies issued responses for 6 traffic-related incidents (Code 86) throughout the county. These ranged from warnings to at least one arrest following a stop at Slab Run Rd/Hudson Rd.
Civil Processes
A total of 5 civil process attempts (Signal 15) were recorded, including two visits to the same address on Custus St. One resulted in an arrest.
Other Notable Activity
- 1 prowler report on Stoney Run Rd (Code 46)
- 2 escort/parade details on US Hwy 23 and State Route 140 (Signal 57)
- 1 fire call on Big Run Rd (Code 28)
Locations with Multiple Calls
- Hammerstein Rd saw three medical calls throughout the day.
- Dogwood Ridge Rd was the site of a theft, a domestic complaint, and multiple patrol responses.
- Center St in Portsmouth was mentioned twice—once for a civil process and once for a medical emergency.
